SQL Management Studio – open large results

I got a question from a fellow developer today asking how best to save large data out from SQL Management studio.  He had tried via a query window by returning results to grid, to file, and to text all truncated the data.  He tried right mousing on the table and selecting “Open Table”.  This returned his full untruncated results and let him edit the records but was really slow going due to the huge size of the table and data.

I pointed him toward the “Show SQL Pane” button. 🙂  Right mouse on the table and select “Open Table”, while the query for the open table window is crunching away click the “Show SQL Pane” button as seen below, modify the query and hit execute.
