TFS Power Tools

Using the tf command line interface to undo another users checkout can be a real drag.  So today I installed TFS Power Tools for the first time.  Makes the job of an admin nice and simple.  Why these features aren’t in the standard TFS Visual Studio plugin I don’t know, they should be.

Anyways, download VS2010 version here or the VS2008 version here.

  1. Now open the Visual Studio TFS source control explorer
  2. Right click on the item to undo, or the folder/s above and click the “Find in Source Control” menu item.
  3. Then click “Status”
  4. Click Find and a list of checkouts will be shown
  5. Select the items to undo from the list, right mouse then select undo

Job done!  Lots quicker than using the command line interface.
