BizTalk Tip – Consume Adapter Service missing from Visual Studio

A fellow BizTalker came to me today asking why his newly built dev box was missing the “Consume Adapter Service” option from Visual Studio as can be seen below.  He had installed Visual Studio, BizTalk Server, and then the WCF adapter pack without error.  A quick inspection revealed BizTalk Server 2006 standard edition was installed by mistake.  After uninstalling BizTalk 06 and replacing it with BizTalk Server 2006 R2 developer edition then re-running the WCF LOB SDK install we were able to get the BizTalk addin working.  When re-running the WCF LOB adapter installer be sure to hit change instead of repair and you will see the “BizTalk Addin” as an option now.
