Python in my pocket

Well after trying to get the .NET compact framework and smartphone SDK running I found I needed some components from my Visual Studio install disks, which are in Melbourne.  So instead of watching the grass grow for two weeks I downloaded th python SDK.
So far I’ve hacked up an app that sends an SMS and another that gets cell tower information.  The next job is to interface with the onboard GPS.  My dev env is very low tech.  i.e. I’m coding on notepad and just copying scripts to the phone using nokia file manager.  It sucks having no emulator but I’ll probably sort that out tonight.
#A bit of Python
import messaging
import location
txt = u"Cell Id %d!" % location.gsm_location()[3]
nbr = u"insert phone number here"
messaging.sms_send(nbr, txt)
